A small script connecting Google’s Nano Banana to Cinema 4D

Capture your scene with a quick render, even an OpenGL one, then choose up to three reference images by double-clicking the thumbnails on the right, write your prompt, and hit Generate.
You can keep chatting and refining your results; the conversation context is preserved until you close the script.

Youtube tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsDFVKl7JCY

  • Run install_nano_env.cmd to install Python and all dependencies.
At the end of the installation, enter your API key or press N to skip.
  • Place nano_c4d.py and external_gen.txt into your Cinema 4D scripts folder.
    Usually it’s located at:
    C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Maxon\Maxon Cinema 4D <version>\library\scripts
  • Restart Cinema 4D and run the script from
    Extensions → User Scripts.
  • Press the API Key... button and paste the key you received from Google to get started.
  • You can watch the YouTube tutorials on this page, or any of the thousands of videos out there explaining how to get your API key.
